Us We Them Project | Us We Them

Us, We, Them Project

A collaboration and creative learning experience between two countries, two cultures, two different schools, two classes, two languages but one amazing group of children to celebrate and share who we are, where we come from and a beautiful togetherness.

Over 8 weeks students from Hua Mao Bilingual Class Grade One in Ningbo, China and Fitzroy Community School Grade Two in Melbourne, Australia will participate in a program that aims to use creativity and communication to build new friendships, broaden cultural understanding and respect. Students and teachers will utilize the way technology in our present world lends incredible opportunity to build bridges across this amazing planet of ours and create spaces for inter-cultural bilingual dialogue.

Over skype, by snail-mail and within their classrooms, students will use art, drama, puppetry, mural-making and video to tell stories, discover new things, and express themselves. These discoveries and experiences will be recorded on an interactive blog that we invite the broader parent, teacher and extended community of both schools to follow and share our journey as we go along. The project will conclude with an exhibition of work that will feature elements of both schools in both countries and promises to be a spectacular event.

The Us, We, Them Project is a unique opportunity for our children and we are very excited to watch it unfold.

Stay posted!
